Asphalt-concrete production is a significant task for road construction enterprises. The geographical location of an asphalt-concrete production unit is one of the important prerequisites for the qualitative laying of asphalt-concrete.

There are two asphalt plants at the disposal of the Limited Liability Company "VIA" - one in Ugāle, one in Aizkraukle. These plants are the strategic support points of the enterprise. Their main task is to ensure competitive advantage of the Limited Liability Company "VIA" in Middle-Daugava and Western Kurzeme regions. As the manufacturer of the main construction material - asphalt mixtures - the asphalt-concrete plant makes it possible for the Limited Liability Company "VIA" to perform construction works in Ventspils, Kuldīga, Talsi, Ogre, Aizkraukle, Jēkabpils and Madona districts on a constant basis (not depending on other road construction enterprises). The certified production quality system has been implemented both at Aizkraukle and at Ugāle plants.

The task to provide other customers with asphalt-concrete in the aforementioned regions is an additional task for both plants.
