Can granite, marble and Technistone be used for kitchen surfaces?Granite and Technistone are perfect materials, which can be used in a kitchen, as well as in other meal preparation places. These materials are resistant to stains, chips, scratches, open fire and heat. Similarly to other high-class materials for surfaces, when being cleaned on a regular and thorough basis, both granite and Technistone engineered stone will not cause any health or sanitary problems. It is, however, not recommended to use marble in kitchens, as marble is easier to scratch and smear. Can you cut on granite, marble and Technistone?Granite and Technistone are sufficiently hard and resistant materials. They can safely be used for cutting without the fear of scratching them. The result of cutting on marble surfaces will be similar to cutting on surfaces made of wood. Can you place a hot pan on granite, marble and Technistone?Any stone is a non-flammable and heat-resistant material. Both granite and Technistone engineered stone are perfect for kitchens. They are not damaged in heat or under the influence of open fire. Marble, however, should not be used for kitchen surfaces, as excessive heat and aggressive environment can cause damage. One must be beware of sudden temperature changes, as this can result in microfissures. Can granite, marble and Technistone be scratched?The denser is the material, for instance, granite and Technistone, the more it is resistant towards scratches. Marble, in its turn, is not as dense; therefore, we advise to use it in places, which are less subjected to mechanic effect. Can granite, marble and Technistone be soiled?All stones are porous materials; therefore they can be soiled, if they are not tidied on a regular basis. Stones can be protected from stains by quickly wiping their surface. If grime (fats, oil, coffee, wine etc.) will be left for a longer period of time, the stone will become darker. Marble not only soils, it also enters into a chemical reaction with acidulous substances or products. How to limit the soiling of granite, marble and Technistone?We saturate all materials with a special substance, in order to decrease the ability of the material to absorb stains. If, however, the surface is soiled, we recommend to clean up all stains as quickly as possible. Is it possible to make heated stone surface?Usually, the stone temperature is the same as the temperature of the room it is in. However, stone is a little cooler. In its turn, under the influence of direct sunlight, stone will heat up more. In order to artificially regulate the temperature of stone surface, it is possible to use various technologies for heating or cooling floors and surfaces. Is it possible to repair stone surface?Parts made from natural stone and Technistone are hard to break. If, however, there are any damages, it is possible to repair them with the help of epoxy-based glues, by gluing back the truncated part. Is the polished stone surface absolutely smooth?No. Stone is not homogeneous. By polishing the stone, one opens the pores of the material. For some stones this peculiarity is more typical, for other - less typical. Different lighting highlights stone structure in a different way. This specifics should be taken into consideration during the selection of the most suitable type of stone for certain surface location. Which types of surface edge treatment are possible?No, many granites contain dots and scratches that are natural feature of many granites. This feature differs from granite to granite, to some it is more explicit, to other less and room light can make these scars more clear.
