Types of stone working

Depending on the type of stone working, one stone can change both its visual look and mechanical characteristics. The most often used types of stone surface treatment are: polishing, antique imitation and burning. In addition, it is recommended to apply chemical treatment to stone surfaces. It improves aesthetical and physical characteristics of stone.

Polished surface

Polished surfaces reflect light and are shiny, as stone pores are closed during the stone working. Polishing reveals the beauty of stone texture. This is the most often used, as well as the most popular type of stone working.

Antique imitation surface

Gloss is not typical for antique imitation surfaces. The sliding ability of such surfaces is decreased; they are also much more porous than polished surfaces. Although antique imitation surface is not really recommended for the places, where chemical substances are used, this surface type is topical and requested for furniture surfaces in bathrooms and kitchens.

Burned surface

Burned surface has high friction coefficient, it is rough and gnarled. In comparison with polished surface, the color of burned surface is not so intensive. It is recommended to be used for exterior decorations, for instance, for stair and facade decorations.
